I am Danny, The Happy Gardener. I don’t look particularly happy here as the hens are showing little respect.
I have been gardening since I was a child. When I was about 5, my parents allowed me to use a shady spot under a tree where the grass wouldn’t grow. I tried various activities, like growing vegetables, collecting worms, and building a secret base inspired by James Bond. I didn’t achieve much, but I fell in love with working with the plants and the earth.
I have reignited my passion for gardening and creating welcoming outdoor areas. In a previous life I have been a journalist, communications professional and arts administrator, but the draw of the outdoors found the return to land work irresistible.
I have been fortunate to refresh and grow my knowledge of garden maintenance by working with some great local talent, including Rob Casement of West End Gardens, who has been the perfect mentor. I have built up my own client base, and it has been a pleasure to meet so many interesting people and help them improve their outdoor spaces.
